Judging by the reaction from the mention of the word ‘ketones’ in the Cucumber Spearmint Vitality water post, I’m betting there are quite a few of you who are liking the keto lifestyle! I have to tell you about my other new favorite addiction!!! (Gluten free and general healthy eaters, listen up too…this is good. Real good!!!)
There’s an up-and-coming food company called Real Good Foods I wanna make sure you know about. 👍🏻 I’ve tested their cheese pizza, green chicken enchiladas and their red beef enchiladas. GUYS!! I’m soooo addicted to these! I’m nom nom nomming a box of enchiladas for lunch everrr day! 😂 #SorryNotSorry 😋
The package says 4g carbs per serving, but really when you deduct the 2g of fiber it’s only 2 NET CARBS! For 20g of protein and ONLY 190 calories? That’s what I call a nutritional bargain! 😇
I’ve been liking ‘choosing my foods from the keto menu’ (instead of the word ‘DIET’!) although I’m not super thin, just because my pants no longer cry in agony when I put them on. I’m SO very grateful for that! 🙌🏻😂😋👍🏻😭👖
Another reason I choose to stand behind this small but mighty company is best described by this message I sent to them earlier today: “I’m officially addicted! I know y’all will do well because… you’re filling a need the rest of the market has ignored… we just needed real FOOD. 😭 But y’all went and made it Real Good too! 😄”
With tears, y’all… Cuz that’s how I frustrated I feel about food in this country. We just want real food! Aaand quick, healthy, delicious and reasonably priced too. Tee Hee.
WHAT’S IN ‘EM?
The ingredient list is simple, real food. It’s true!! The more y’all hear about these folks at Real Good the more you’ll love ’em. They’re small now, like under 10 employees handling customer service and such, reminding me a little of of Young Living’s humble beginnings.😍
The geniuses at Real Good make the enchilada shell out of antibiotic-free chicken and cheese (wow) and slow cook the food, using NO preservatives. Who does that?!? I mean, in the Big food industry today… which in itself deserves the same heebeegeebees as the Big Pharma Industry and Big Government might give you. If you’re thinking you can make these shells yourself, mmmaybe. Mmhmm. A lot of work, though. Then there’s the sauce. And the beef!! I’m personally already cooking more than ever because I’m doing keto and my family is not, so I welcome this delicious, convenient break with open mouth! 😃 Err, arms…
WHERE TO BUY ‘EM
I originally saw this advertisement on Facebook and wanted to try them, but I had a hard time finding the products at first. You can take a look at their product locator by clicking the picture below to see if they’re in your area yet.
If you can’t find them (or if you need to buy in bulk, like me!) you can order by the case AND get 10% off by clicking here: ShopRealGoodFoods
The price you see at checkout is the price you pay with the shipping included, and they’re shipped to your door in a styro cooler packed in dry ice, they say can keep up to a week! I like that option! Because in ‘Arizona time’ I know they’l make it til I bring the package inside!
There is a 2 case minimum to order which comes out to $67.50 with the 10% off, for 12 meals, delivered. That’s not bad! About $5.63 a meal, and more discounts if you decide to buy more or other products too. Do you see why I’m excited?!?
May I recommend TEN CASES of the red enchiladas?!? OMG – THE BEEF! It’s soooo soft! And even though the serving looks like it’s small, it is really filling and satisfying. Please. Let me save you 20 trips to the grocery store and the empty shelves… Order in bulk & invite some keto or gluten free girlfriends over for lunch! 👯♂️
REAL PICS REAL FOOD
Sooo, I’m obviously no food photographer, but this is just an unedited pic showing how they come out of the toaster oven with the sauce & cheese spooned over the top. They look pretty much the same after coming out of the microwave, by the way.
I prepared both kinds of enchiladas in the toaster oven and microwave, with the toaster oven tasting only slightly better. If you have the time, might as well avoid the microwave radiation, right? It’s just 20 minutes. Either way, I did find that the shell was difficult to cut through with just a fork, so I either use a fork AND a knife, like a civilized human being, or slice them up with the kitchen shears when I’m in a hurry. OK, I’m always in a hurry. LOL!
These started out as GLUTEN FREE products, but if you’re genuinely doing keto, you get to add s’more fats! 😆👍🏻 I’m no Keto expert, but I’m shooting for 70% of my diet coming from fats. (I know, weird, huh?!) And it’d be totally irresponsible of me not to suggest healthy plant fats, like avacado… buuuut let’s be honest… lots of us do keto for the cheese & sour cream! 😃 So I do add to my enchis, although it’s not really necessary for so. much. YUM. (I did ALL of that for you, by the way!)
It’s been a minute since I’ve felt so much passion about something I believe in so much, and this is it. Way to go, Real Good! I’ll follow up with more on the green chicken enchiladas and pizza as soon as I stop obsessing over the red beef enchis.
I pray companies like this one prosper! Vote with your dollars. Silent revolution.
