Do you have foundation that’s too light? I want to share this little crunchy tip with you!
Have you ever thought about adding a touch of organic cocoa powder as you apply it? Hee hee! Yes, the kind you make hot cocoa and bake cakes with. This is what I’ve been doing, because I spent a pretty penny on a good “clean” foundation.
I like my foundation lighter than my skin, but in the summer this seems to be way too light for me. OK, who are we kidding here? I bought foundation that’s even too light for me in the winter months too. Like, I could be an extra on ‘Walking Dead’, but they haven’t called me yet, soooo…
Tarte foundation http://amzn.to/2fX2eMM I dig this foundation because I like a matte finish and this is made with Amazonian clay. Sometimes, it’s too flat though, so I add a touch of my homemade serum to the palm of my hand, a dollop of the foundation, a pinch of cocoa powder and mix it with my finger before applying. Like a little custom color color palette. 🙂 Tarte makes other types of foundations too, but this has been working really well for me.

Sometimes I will use just foundation and cocoa powder and no serum. Sometimes I dip a kabuki brush in loose powder and add a little cocoa instead, sort of like a bronzer. It all depends on my skin, the weather, and 4,000 other things I won’t bore you with. So I threw a little plastic pot with organic cocoa powder in my make up bag for use as I deem appropriate!
Cuz, that!
