Before I ever began with Young Living I knew that we accidentally consumed the things we put on our lips. I’ve heard it’s something like 5 pounds eaten in an average woman’s lifetime. And then there’s the ‘what’s in it’ part. If you’re not up on that yet, check this out, 6 lip balm ingredients to avoid, but if you’re good, then read on!
This recipe is tried and true. A combination of firmness and softness that goes on a little glossy, loves your lips and a touch of honey makes it extra nice. And if you swallow it, it’s not full of toxic junk your body doesn’t recognize. What I’m trying to say is… this balm is the bomb!

All of these ingredients are available in our A-store, as well as some ideas for decorating. Click any of the affiliate links to check them out.
Just a little heads up… I find it easier to decorate the tube first, using simple duct tape, labels or blingy jewels.
Using a double boiler (or a sauce pan with an oven-safe glass bowl) combine and melt all ingredients EXCEPT essential oil over medium heat. Once liquefied, use a pipette to put the balm in the containers, making sure to fill them past the ‘pointy part’. Working quickly, add your desired oils to the liquid balm and gently mix with a toothpick, topping off if necessary. Balm will shrink as it cools. Allow to cool and harden completely before placing a cap on it.
For a Christmas-ey flavor add any of these for a yummy balm and know that nothing that ends up consumed is bad for your body:
1 drop cinnamon, 2 drops Stress Away
2 drops grapefruit, 1 drop spearmint
1 drop peppermint, 1 drop Stress Away
1 drop peppermint, 1 drop orange
The combo possibilities are pretty endless… That’s all there is to it. No need to consume whale parts, poisons or petroleum…I promise!
It’s going to be the BEST Christmas yet!
