DIY Facial Serum~

Recipe :

It smells fantastic…OBVI, it’s nice and light and a little goes a long way. You will love how delicate this serum feels, and when you smell it, you will KNOW it is something special.
DIY Facial Serum Ingredient Benefits:
Jojoba Oil: similar to our own sebum (our skin’s natural oil), it absorbs easily and readily into the skin making it a gentle skin softener good for all skin types. Promotes: balancing oil production, youthful appearance of skin, retention of moisture, appearance of elasticity, and helps to prevent dehydration.
Vitamin E: an antioxidant, anti-aging, helps protect against sun damage, improves skin hydration, speeds cellular regeneration, assists in the skin’s natural healing processes for scars and blemishes and is used as a natural preservative in skincare.
Frankincense Essential Oil: helps heal and protect skin, speeds the fading of scars, promotes cellular regeneration, powerful astringent capabilities, fights signs of aging, helps eliminate appearance of sun spots, and aids in the absorption of nutrients in the skin and hey–they brought it to baby Jesus…
Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil: skin balancing, stimulates the skin, balances oil production, contain skin soothing properties.
Lavender Essential Oil: encourages wound healing & skin regeneration, contains anti-fungal and anti-septic properties, and lavender promotes our body’s normal inflammatory response. Great for pimples, wrinkles, fine lines, and reducing the appearance of scars.
*Update: Tip from esthetician Tiffany Oxendale: Add a bit of pure aloe to make your serum even more luxurious, easier to spread and for even more benefits for your skin.
And that right there, is a great example of the beauty of being a part of the Young Living lifestyle…people come together and share their gifts!
Only have the starter kit? No problem! Use the frank and lavender. BY the same token, feel free to add other oils to your serum too! As I expanded my collection, I’ve added a few drops of manuka (total WOW skin oil), rose (so fab it’s not even believable), sandalwood (I need to do a whole blog on just this oil and skin–in the meantime, google ‘sandalwood skin benefits’ and check out what Dr. Mercola says about it) and tea tree, also known for loving on your skin. But the big moral of the story is – use what you have! ANYthing you make with an organic carrier and Young Living Oils will be so much better for your skin than anything you can buy in a store or from an infomercial. Your body dos not WANT chemicals and it is trying to tell you that through your skin!
This serum is what I mainly use for moisturizer and it’s not greasy. Argan is another carrier that works well because it’s not greasy. Jojoba and Argan are the two that are most like our skin’s own natural oil, sebum, and that come highly recommended by Tiffany.
